Blacktree Autumn Stardust

Drove down to Yarragon today to visit a Cavalier breeder.

Went into a typical farm house and this was the sight I saw:

Puppies

Breeder's Show Dogs - Breeder has managed to produce one champion and a couple of runner ups. She had at least 15 cavaliers but I didn't get the chance to take photos of all of them.

Then of course there was the agony of choosing. Had a very hard time. One of the pups was beautiful but she was Class II and in the end I decided against it because of potential problems later e.g. feeding, palate trauma etc.

After much deliberation, finally settled on this boy:

I've decided to call him Autumn Stardust. The breeder's name is Blacktree and therefore his full name is Blacktree Autumn Stardust.

Before shooting me down for giving such a ridiculous name for my dog, I must first state that it's only his official name. Very likely he's going to be called Milton daily. Why Milton? Why, Milton's solution of course! This way I get to give ridiculous names and yet please everybody else around me who has been very abusive about my name choice.

Bringing him home 8th of December.

Happiness.

When I'm Bored...

After studying I do these things:

1. Check out Questionable Content.
2. Look at houses for rent online in search of my future home next year.
3. Look at home furnishings in various different websites.
4. Look at hobbies to pursue in various different websites
5. Look at Cavalier Spaniels available for sale in various different websites.

8 more days!!!

Once Again

About one and a half years ago I was seized with an intense desire to own a dog. A Blenhiem King Charles Cavalier Spaniel to be precise. But when I talked to my parents they were a brick wall. They said no.

Dogs are dirty, you don't have time, you don't really want a dog, you're a student not a dog carer etc.

In retrospect they were wise - there was no way I could have taken care of a dog properly over this past one and a half years. However, as a new chapter of my life approaches, I believe I can take care of a dog should I choose to get one next year.

Seriously considering getting one in December. I'm just not sure if it's the right thing to do.

Hmm...

Journal

Went on a quest for a journal and found one after going to like... ten stores or something along those lines.

Finally settled on a red leather journal with lined gold edged sheets of paper. Took a long time to make up my mind - the other ones I saw were too tacky, the lines were too wide, the lines were too narrow, the size was too big, the size was too small... blabla.

Yes, I'm a fussy person.

Procrastination

As a person who is obsessed with punctuality and abhors tardiness, it seems strange that I should be so well-schooled in the art of procrastination.

My mom loves doing everything right now and doesn't know why I can put off putting away a stack of books for several days. I guess it's just an evil habit that one has to break.

Hmm, I might procrastinate further now and read up how to stop procrastinating before I get some work done...

In Love

My cousin told me that one of the perks of her job is that she gets free stuff sometimes, and one of the things she got was this:

I am so jealous!! It's studded with Swarovski crystals and it's a 1GB thumb drive. She got the padlock one which is lovely, but I personally have been won over by the heart shaped one. So pretty!!!

It's outrageously priced. So outrageous that even I have to put my foot down on this one. But really - by far the most beautiful thumb drive I have ever seen.

Mail

The day I decided to stream all my email addresses into Mail for Mac was one of the best days of my life.

Sure, it took me 2 hours to get everything up and running but now I feel that my life is so much easier!

Every time a new mail comes in it shows up on my task bar and every time I send mail out it leaves with a whooshing sound. I love love love it!!

The only small aggravation is the fact that Yahoo! doesn't allow non-pro users to link their mailbox up to stuff like this. Very aggravated. Am going to leave Yahoo! and make my Gmail my primary address instead.

Am listening to these songs in repeat:

2. I'm Yours - Jason Marz

Rafael Nadal

So he finally won Wimbledon!!!

I was so excited, although I didn't get to watch the end of the match because it was just too late. I guess it's better for me that I didn't because the last 2 sets would probably have stressed me out too much.

Anyway - if it was possible to escape the knowledge that I am a massive fan of Rafa, escape no longer.

He has the arms of a bricklayer, he's a deep sea fisherman and a professional tennis player. So maybe his face isn't the most symmetrical - my brother always teases me and says he looks like Little Nicky.

I don't care.

French Earl Grey Tea

Bought some French Earl Grey tea today.

Got home, hurriedly set some water to boil and brewed a cup of tea. Then proceeded to watch Two Weeks Notice with said tea and a ham, cheese and sundried tomato sandwich.

Love this version of Earl Grey!!

When I first tried classic Earl Grey, I thought it was good.

When I tried Lady Grey I thought it was better than Earl Grey, making it my new favourite.

Now I've tried French Earl Grey and it has surpassed the other two!

Would love to have another cup but fear the caffeine will affect my sleep tonight. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Obsessed

My mind is only on one thing these days. I just want to get over it and move on with my life again.

On another note, will be going on a short trip on the Queen's Birthday weekend. Rather excited, yet at the same time I'm... cautious.

Longing for things to get back to normal again.

Dental Girl Is Obsessed

Spent my day cleaning out my apartment. By cleaning out I mean really cleaning out - every nook and cranny.

I never go into cleaning frenzies like this, mainly because I honestly can't be bothered. But today, no speck of dust stood a chance against me.

Managed to come up with a few new ways to organize the clutter in my house and as a result have a much neater apartment now. All I need is someone to kindly volunteer to take our unwanted clothes to Salvation Army. Yes, this is a large hint to anyone who wants to participate in this worthy worthy cause. Would do it myself, if I could physically drag 3 boxes full of clothes there.

On another note, I've been getting a lot of cuts/bruises on my hands and I have no idea where they're coming from. This leads to the need to Tegederm everything. Now, I know Tegederm really works blabla, but every time I rip it off I feel as if I just made my wound worse. Perhaps I should try with some gauze over it first before applying...

The weekend beckons. Fully intend to make full use of it before Monday comes along again.

Vision

In my mind's eye, it appeared.

I saw my dream house and on a shelf was a row of agendas, all in different colours, but the same series.

One was my own for daily calendar writings, another for housekeeping, another for my recipes and the last one was... not mine.

It was sharp image, almost like a memory.

Felt

I've moved on to my next obsession - felt craft.

Just made a sunglass pouch last night after hours of agonizing about how to set the pattern on.

I would post up a picture of it - except my computer is so slow I feel that waiting for it to happen will break my spirit.

The reason why I've taken a break from knitting is because my hands actually hurt from over-knitting. Therefore, exploring other crafts instead.

Also trying to think of cake decorating ideas for a 21st party coming up soon. So far no inspiration.

Hmm...

Makeovers

I found an old tin that used to contain a fruit cake from Myer. Seeing that it was still in pretty good condition and I particularly liked the stripes around the sides, I decided that there was no need to repaint the whole tin. Instead, I just stuck on my monogram onto the lid using some craft glue.

Tada!

I live for cheap thrills.

Nails

I am still obsessed with my nails.

First I went for solid colours. Then I went into the french manicure phase. Now? I love nail stickers.

Bought a whole lot of them in the past two days.

I used to think that they were tacky but I've decided that with the right base colour and the right stickers, they can be quite pleasing aesthetically.

I dread the day when I have to cut my fingernails i.e. the day I go back to being a dental student.

I'll put up some pictures if I can be bothered to.

As a side note, I'm so sad Nadal lost - but so happy Federer lost! I hope Djokovic wins, although one must grudgingly admit that Tsonga is also worthy.

Back to obsessing.

Hair

I just spent 6 hours at the hairdresser's, getting my hair all curly and coloury and trimmy.

Was it worth it? I guess so. The price was exorbitant but hey - nobody said that doing stuff to almost waist long hair was cheap.

I say almost waist long because it's still not waist long after years of trying to get my hair there. Now it's barely halfway down my back due to the new springy curls.

Exhausted.

My Lucky Star

I got sucked into the evils of Taiwanese dramas. Again.

This time, it's called 'My Lucky Star' and it's about a rich boy and a poor girl. No surprise there.

So. Addicted. Be my guest and get addicted too. You can watch it here. They have English subtitles! Which is great, seeing I only understand about 10% of what's going on without it.

More monograms that I particularly like:

Isn't the last one with the hey diddle diddle scene so juvenile? But I love it!

Monogramming

I confess I'm crazily in love with monograms.

Examples of a couple that I made today:

One's for my best friend since childhood and one's for myself! Will post others as I go along.
